In compressor click on the encoder tab of the inspector. Rate is set there.

June 29, 2011 at 4:22 pm in reply to: final cut pro x problem with templates, generators and titlesIt’s all new – so I’m very much interested in solving this – even remotely. 😀
So there’s something that’s mucking it all up. And you’re going to get a bunch of ‘hey, try this’ from me. Hope we all can be patient (and learn) from this – there is no real roadmap (that I know of).
Could you launch MOTION 4 and then quit it and try again?
Best,
Jeff G

I’m guessing that you need to change the prefs in FCPX from Full Overlap in the transition part of the preferences. I could be wrong of course, but worth a try.

June 29, 2011 at 2:13 pm in reply to: final cut pro x problem with templates, generators and titlesSo, it’s not FCPX, it’s something wrong with your user.
Start by trashing the FCP prefs:
Your user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.FinalCut.plsit
com.apple.FinalCut.LSSharedFileList.plistTrash the motion ones while you’re at it.
See if it works and report back!

Well, the only way to improve the quality of a DVD is to throw more data at it (a higher data rate, yielding a larger file.) There are a couple of other methods – but it’s not going to significantly make it look better when blown up on a HD screen.
Either BluRay DVD or a different delivery method will let you access the full high definition information.

No, your english is fine. My reading comprehension isn’t great when I’m sleepy. No, I just tested it, you can’t assign that to the keyboard. Nothing can be mapped from the audio mixer.
There is a gain adjustment in the clip menu (which can be mapped) – but it looks like it can only be used for clips in the source monitor. I was hoping that it would work on segment selected clips, but that doesn’t work either.

Currently in the US (don’t know about other places) Avid’s educational version entitles you to four years of upgrades. After that, it’s assumed you’ll purchase it anew as you’re no longer a student.

That’s the subjective question. If it looks good…who cares (except us, the media creator purchasing the blank bluray that is mostly empty.

June 29, 2011 at 12:46 pm in reply to: Keyboard assign ” set level On Track – In/Out”Yes.
Open the Audio Mixer. Select tracks on the audio mixer. Adjust the level of the clip you’re parked on – now underneath the fast menu you can set the levels or adjust the levels (will work on an in/out as well.)
This adjusts the clip volume NOT the auto gain (keyframing).

June 29, 2011 at 12:37 pm in reply to: Walter Biscardi walks through PPro from an FCP perspective[John-Michael Seng-Wheeler] “3) When importing files from File biased cameras, clips which were split up because of the 4GB file size limit are duplicated. For example, If have two P2 clips named 001YG and 0021h which are part of the same clip, Premiere will give you two clips named 001YG which contain the footage from both clips. I have to go through and delete all the duplicates or my project will be a little hard to use…”
If you go through the media browser (not file>Import) this problem doesn’t exist.
