Could you get info on one of those files? If it has a hook arrow as part of it’s icon – it’s an alias – not a full copy. FCPX makes aliases at the finder level for non-copied footage.

How does it look when monitored through the firewire cable/camera/monitor? If it looks fine there (and fine in distribution) then it’s soley the way your mac is setup – you might want to play with the Colorsync for the LCD screen in the Monitors system preference.

Pick the Apple “Best” settings in DVDSP – 90, 120, 150 depending on the amount of total minutes on the DVD.
Use the Send to Compressor Feature.

Andy, QuickTime may change the way it looks for display, but the data is exactly what you had in FCP7.
