Thx- I’ll check out the boomerang problem – that sounds like the issue.
I did try the interpolation but that didn’t work. My poor man’s solution (that worked!) was to split the text into 2 layers & do each move separately on a different layer. My fade back was then clean.

I spoke to Premiere and came to a similar conclusion. Since I am only using 1 or 2 clips from a full card, my workflow is:
P2 > FCP > AP
I wish premiere would provide a log & tfer type function, but it’s not the end of the world to fire up FCP for this task.
