    Jean is correct as usual.
I am working on a piece now that involves a huge 3space setup in AE with multiple “multi-plane” scenes and to make it managable every scene is a seperate comp with its own 3space,…all put together in another main comp with its own 3space.

I typically so far have always had my pre-comp with all layers 3D,…then when I bring it in to main comp I collapse it AND make it 3D as well so I can use my main camera…. I have run into issues with effects and track mattes in the sub comps not working once in the main comp……then I un-collapse and it works??? A bit of trial and error im afraid.

Would love to know the true source of these anomolies……

IMHO Illustion is dead. Trapcode Particular will easily do what you want right within AE.

The only way I know to get the ‘best’ bcast safe colors is to be monitoring your AE output window through a framebuffer card like Digital Voodoo or Aja or whatever and then animate levels/hue_saturation while watching a scope. This way you have total control and can really push colors to the edge while still being safe,……it is a wonderful way to work IMHO.

    Yup,….u guys got it.

I used Sinedot II, and used Shine on it w/colorize 3 point to give color. If I remember there may have been another instance of the Sdot filter on top in add mode. But no glow effect.
