The poster frame determines where the video loop in the button begins. The loop ends when the menu duration is reached.
When you select the timeline chapter from the menu, playback begins at the chapter point, not at the poster frame.

Set the poster frame for the chapter marker that is the target of the button link. That will determine the starting point for the video in the button.
The poster frame doesn’t have to be in the chapter that’s linked; it can be anywhere in the timeline.

Hi Mike,
What presets/custom settings did you use for the .m2v encoding from Pr/AME?
How does that compare to the settings used for the dozen or so DVDs that built without error?
Has *anything* changed on your system between successful building using CS4 and now?
What happens if you export from Pr/AME as an .avi or .mov file and let En transcode to .m2v? Do different codecs make any difference in the result?
This is not good news. The expectation was that CS4 had finally put this thing to rest.

The possibility of a bug exists, but since all of your other menus work, and you indicated that there was a PAR/frame size issue with this one menu, the available data points to the media being the problem, not the program.
However, it is possible that Encore 2.0 does a better job of automatically interpreting the PAR of the asset than CS4. Did you ever try File>Interpret Footage in CS4?

2. Adjust the kerning
3. Undo
4. BuildThat should fix it. Test on an RW disc so you don’t get any coasters.

Do you have any overrides set? Specifically on the chapter buttons on the chapter menu, but anywhere else in the project is bad, too.
Remove them if you have any of them set.
