Another customer with a 12 cores Westmere configuration is having the same issue. And the Graphics card is Nvidia Quadro 4000 and not the ATI default 5000 series, so the issue is not tied to a Graphics card problem. For now the customer has turned off video output from the DeckLink 3D to be able to work without crashing…. With a ProRes 422 (HQ) multiclip editing, it became a nightmare with so frequent FCP crashes…
Hope they indeed find a solution at Blackmagic, but to late, they have not yet tracked the problem… -

January 12, 2011 at 12:55 pm in reply to: Hardware/driver issues Decklink 3/3dUnfortunately, 7.9.4 does not solve the issue. Even, replacing the DeckLink 3D with a previous DeckLink HD Extreme v3 does not solde the issue. So it is really tied with the software drivers and Mac Pro westmere…

I have exactly the Same issue with latest Mac Pro westmere running 10.6.5, FCP 7.0.3 and Decklink driver 7.9.3.
Working with HD Prores 422 or 422 (HQ) In 1080p25 or i50, both machines are really instable with VIDEO output on to the decklink. First VIDEO out turns to Green display on the externat monitor thon FCP crashes regularly. The only cure so far has been to disable video output from the Decklink. What a shame editing hd without external video out !
I will add that we do use 6 other Mac pros with Decklink cards (Hd Extreme v3) on Mac Pro nehalen (2009) and this issue does not occurs. Same FCP and same driver 7.9.3 on all editing machines. Is there something going on with 10.6.5 on latest Mac pro running Decklink 3D cards?
let us know, we need to find a solution quickly.
Best regards

February 23, 2008 at 9:44 am in reply to: Kona LHe PCIe Slot Placement in Early 2008 MacProFYI, I had recently issues in a 2008 Mac Pro with the Kona in slot 3 and a RAID SAS ATTO card in slot 2. I had issues with ProRes HQ playback dropping frames with loss of sync on external video/sound. AJA Support suggested to move Kona LHe to slot 2 and ATTO card to slot 4. And this change was done, it runs now smoothly. so, Mac Pro 08 do not behave the same than the 2007 units.

December 1, 2007 at 8:13 am in reply to: 6.6.2 doesnt work with FCP 6.02 on 10.4.11I can confirm this problem on another configuration with Mac Pro, HD Pro PCIe and 10.4.11, so I believe the issue does only concern the HD Pro series. Impossible to capture more than a few seconds of video because FCP announces a tape of deck problem and aborts the process.

Unfortunately, not yet supported by the DeckLink drivers….. Still waiting for it !

Decklink drivers simply can’t do it by now….

September 3, 2006 at 10:59 am in reply to: Which control surface? Mackie control universal or Tascam FW 1082Should you precise that this only applies to PCI-X machines, and not PCIe G5, like the Quad G5 which is not affected with mixing all kinds of PCIe cards, if they do respect the bandwidth required (1x to 4x for most of them).

Yes, I can confirm, no issue if using the Mac Pro and Multibridge Pro with 5 Gb of RAM, and if the storage is Xserve Raid with Apple Fiber PCIe card hopefully…
But, ATTO really needs to solve this issue for using higher bandwith storage to to Realtime 2 streams of HD or HD 4:4:4. Let’s hope fixes coming soon….
