  • I solved the problem!! In System Preferences, goto Displays. Under color, choose iMac. Mine was set to HD709-A. Go back to FCP and click on a couple of clips and it should look fine.

Let me know how it goes.

    David,

Thanks for responding so promptly. I am using my computer monitor as the primary monitor. However, I do get the fact that computer monitors are progressive and will show scan lines. But, I do have a panasonic studio monitor hooked up to a Sony DSR45, which trans codes the DV signal and outputs it to the monitor. When I am still on a frame, the monitor is flashing like crazy all over the place… which I assume is part of this interlacing issue.

Please keep in mind, I do come from the AVID world (and various other softwares over the years) and I have NEVER seen anything like this (Even while viewing a computer monitor) If you guys tell me this is nothing to be concerned about, I won’t be concerned. But I have never seen this before and some of my stuff does go to broadcast so I am a little concerned and it seems that others are complaining about FCP6 opposed to earlier versions.

    So, am I crazy?

    -J
