My experiences are like Brett’s…
Anyway, no one has answered my question regarding Apple’s statement that ‘registered owners of FCP are eligible to receive the 5.1.2 update’?
I guess it’s just a way to coerce people to register and I shouldn’t take that seriously?

For PAL-people not going to film and working with FCP 1080i50 is the best they can get out of the camera, right? I’m in a dilemma because I don’t expect to go to film but I am in the market for an HVX. Initially to shoot a doc in SD DV 16×9 in progressive mode, down the road to be able to offer HD to my clients.(not to mention my own experiments with 720p)Would you advice against buying a HVX200 at the moment? (For one reason: because by the time FCP 6 allows working in 720p, the HVX300 is closeby?)
Thanks for the response and sorry if I misunderstood some things- I am foremost a storyteller, not a tech-type.

Thanks, I had noticed the good info on Adam Wilt’s site.
But to get back to my original question, I haven’t purchased anything yet- would you recommend getting BOTH the DMTS DVD and the Green book/DVD?
And if you had a choice, which one would you get?
(or -knowing this is a small world- is this too sensitive a question for you to answer..?)

Hey Aaron, you again?!
Just asked for a quote on the 100 BE at B&H and there is no rebate for the PAL camera… (it is however $200 cheaper than the BA) not even the Magic Bullet software and the Green DVX handbook+DVD… Bummer. (I asked if they could throw in the book/DVD since I’m ordering a bunch of accessories and that’ll probably go through- but now I want the Magic Bullet as well:)
You’re in New Zealand, right? Did you get any of those goodies with the BE?Wolf (from Amsterdam)

I was -very- tempted to go for the 200 but luckily B&H doesn’t sell the PAL version. To be honest, I can’t really justify the investment. I’m not an indie filmmaker like you- this is my first indie doc and I’m struggling for every euro.
As far as being set for the next few years: by the time the P2 cards and Firestore disks will have dropped to acceptable prices, the next generation Panasonic probably won’t be far away, wouldn’t you say?
