  • Well the Mac Mini I bought was used and the person installed Mavericks on it already, wish I would have known this was going to be an issue. Fortunately I have a Macbook Pro that is running Leopard so I can still utilize Premiere Pro C3, it is just a pain however because I wanted to be able to do it on this computer instead. What is the latest version of Premiere Pro that will work for Mavericks? I do not want the cloud thing because I can not justify the monthly cost in the long run for the amount of use I will need it. Also what is the highest version OS that will run Premiere Pro C3 efficiently in case I upgrade my laptop?

Yes Gabriel you are correct that CS3 does not have that capability as I just found out when I went to “look”. I think Steve assumed the programs being the same, but that is ok as he was more then helpful with the other stuff. I came across another posting at another site that said I needed to setup new project in DV-24p project, then import as 29.97 footage. Then drop in footage and edit in 24p timeline. Then export as 23.976 for internet and 60i for TV broadcast. Sound right?

    Hi Again Steve

Thank you so much for your help, I will give that a try and let you know what happens. Probably won’t be for a few days. But I definitely appreciate your help with this.

Also if I am adding additional footage from other cameras for instance a Canon XL2(24p 16:9) and a Canon HD DSLR camera, if I do the same thing. I then export the whole things as 24p out? Is that correct? I just want to double check that.

    Hi Again Steve

You say just drag it on the sequence, but it asks to create the project first? What will the frames of the project be? 24 or 30? I have read several posts around that indicate that because it is a tape camera recording 24p to 29.97, that you import it as 29.97 and the project as 29.97, then I hear to capture as 24 and have the project set as 30, I also heard capture as 30 and project settings as 30. I am getting mixed info here and i just need some clarification.

Also keep in mind this is Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.

    Hi Steve

Thanks for the response, hard to come by what with HD out and everything.. LOL

But what do I capture the footage as? (24, 30, etc.) What do I set my timeline as? (24, 30, etc)
Then what do I set my export as? (24, 30, etc.)

There are some additional things with those, but I will start with that.

Also I will be adding in additional footage we got using a Canon XL2 and a Canon HD HSLR camera so if anyone knows what settinsg for those also or if there is a “universal” setup for all that would be good too. And yes TV broadcast is what I would be using it for, but that would be down the road and not necessarily now. Main setup will be internet, but would I edit any differently for a broadcast or is that just in the export settings?

    Thanks
    J

Does no one have any info on this situation? I kind of find that hard to believe but it is the Memorial Day weekend.
