Found it. It’s the collape transformations and/or contentiously rasterize layer needs to be clicked on in the AE comp window.

    No…I don’t think so.

I need the imported illustrator object to be free of it’s bounding box and be comp size.

As long as it’s in sync when rendered, I don’t see what the problem is. You won’t be showing this to your client by doing a RAM preview in AE.

The problem is that you can’t work. If you can’t tell where the correct sound is or where the picture you can’t edit.

    Using the zero key.

First thanks for the advise Dave.

Second I’ve reinstalled a few times already, looks like I will some more. My question is do you know how to do a clean un-install and EVEN get the registry keys that refer to AE out.

I’m thinking that if you don’t get the registry keys the problem just resurfaces like a bad dream.

Dose anyone know how to do this?

I’ve been checking more projects I’ve done, this problem is accross the board.

Many of my projects are various graphic layers and a sound layer. In checking these I find in every case that the sound “sounds” right but the picture is not in syec, it starts very close to correct but by 3 sec or so has fallen way out.

have you tried bouncing the sound out of the clip from another application in a different format?

Like maybe opening the video clip in avid then bouncing out the audio as a wav or something, then bringing the file into AE? So then AE isn’t trying to read the audio from the video clip…

Ok…did that, brought the .wav from avid put it to the timeline in perfect sync to the picture in the track right above. Same thing. BUT ….I’ve decided that it appears that the picture seems to be moving slow. In other words maybe it’s not sound at all but the picture that not moving at the proper speed.

    It’s set at 29.97.

    Ideas?

That’s because you’re trying to RAM preview at full resolution and full screen size, and your computer can’t keep up. Need proof? Open the Info panel. When the RAM Preview plays back, you’ll see the frame rate for the preview. I’ll bet it’s saying NOT Real Time.

Nope. I’ve been at many resolution and sizes. Info pannel says “real time” playback.

    Any other ideas?
