Yes, I’ve cleaned the heads… I was able to finally capture the entire footage but after review what I captured, it looks like it’s playing every 4th or 5th frame… meaning, it is NOT good still…. Now I believe it has something to do with either fps, sp-lp, or something in that area…….

Yes! I’ve used two different decks, and I get the same results… NOT GOOD!!! lol I’ve never had this problem bofe… Hey! Wait a second… maybe I’ll try trashing the pref files …. I have done that before when I was having connectivity issues and it workede then…… I don’t know… Still looking for help…

Like you, I thought that I was having the breaks in the DV tape in my deck, and so I did as you suggested thinking if I get a clean timecode running through the entire capture, I’d be okay. That wasn’t the case. As a matter of fact, I triede to capture many of DV footage, and the same thing would happen. I believe the problem dwells somewhere in the application. It’s not taking the capture smoothly. It starts but then slows down and then stop saying ‘locating timecode’. Maybe someone else out there have had this experience.
