I have been mastering 3.5 hr DVDs for a classroom lecture. Have done over 100 DVDs with 3.5 hrs, and the footage looks better than i ever expected. I use Vegas to render the mpg2 file @ a bit rate of Variable 4 high 2 medium and a 2 low. At these settings, i can get the quality i need and don’t have to re render in DVD architect.

  • I just tried to apply the drop shadow through the control window and it works fine – i just cant apply it from the text window

  • im applying it in the text window

  • I too spend a few days beating my head trying to get it to work. All manuals refer to old product or little new info.

If you could try to check the drop shadow box in the text window w/ grafitti – and see if this crashes vegas??
It does it to both my systems.

  • I had the same problem untill i was told to use grafitti as a filter – only then you will be able to change duration and work w/ the animation in Vegas

That explains why I could not do it.
I am having trouble w/ the plugins in Vegas.
I am trying to do an animated pie chart, and when I try to apply the template i get a “you must upgrade to red”
I was a beta tester for Boris over 10 years ago in the “Fast video machine days” and i am getting a bit upset over the lack of documentation for the product and the extremely poor implementation into Vegas. This plugin cost almost as much as Vegas, and one would think it would work easier and or have the info available for Vegas users.

Unfortunately I uninstalled all versions of Excalibur’s and reinstalled ver 5.0 w/ 4.6 serial #
I tried to replace the dll files w/ no change. I’m now down to 3 tabs…no mulicam etc.
I wish updating Excalibur’s was easy. Maybe ultimate s installs easyer?
    What now?
