Hi Russ;
I have 2 internal drives. I normally render from main drive to my second drive. Types of files I render are DV NTSC to DV PAL or revers, NTSC to quicktime for web, Final cut sequence to (simple and complex) to DV NTSC.

Sometimes I find it much faster if I output my Final seq. to DV NTSC for example and then use the completed quicktime file for various out put format using compressor.

Don, thanks for your feedback.
I had to return the camera. I will get the USB reader card to capture the footage. Now, the XDCam software handles the reader the same as the Camera and I start capturing?

I filmed at 720i (1280×720). A particular setting I should change in the preference. Please advise.

A quick note will help me a lot.

thanks for your quick help.

1) Where do I set the render control to ProRes? Is that within the sony transfer application or you are talking about the sequence setting inside FCP?

2) Also, I have to convert the footage from full HD to 720p for editing. Does the sony transfer software do it for me or is that better to transfer the content in full HD and then convert them using compressor to 720p ProRes. I like to have a full HD version (copy) of the native files for future use?
