Rendering speed – Qmaster
Hello Everyone!
My macpro is:
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 3 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per processor): 8 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Bus Speed: 1.33 GHzI watched the Qmaster video tutorial on Creativecow and few others. I followed exactly the right procedure, but I can not get the maximum speed on when I render with Apple compressor. My activity monitor is jumping no more the 30%. I tried all combinations but it can not get any better.
Can some one help me.

What’s your storage system?
What type of files are you compressing?
What format are you compressing to?
Are you compressing out of FCP to Compressor?-Russ

Hi Russ;
I have 2 internal drives. I normally render from main drive to my second drive. Types of files I render are DV NTSC to DV PAL or revers, NTSC to quicktime for web, Final cut sequence to (simple and complex) to DV NTSC.Sometimes I find it much faster if I output my Final seq. to DV NTSC for example and then use the completed quicktime file for various out put format using compressor.
