I know this has been awhile but in case someone else needs the info.

You just were not paying attention, it is up on the right in the settings tab just under that it has a button that says edit, That is where you change it to HDV.

They only started Media Composer Software only version a week ago or so. Infact you would be hard pressed to find a site selling it and a price besides MSRP:Call for Price which is never a good sign for the pocketbook. I am not sure if you have used Avid before, but they have a hard time getting bugs out of there systems. I like Avid Xpress Pro HD but am unhappy with the fact that Avid has no immediate plan for 64bit that being said if you aren’t tied into Avid for any reason now you should consider FCP. I have just begun to make the move myself and I hope for the best, but if all of my other software will ustilize 24gb of Ram its a shame that Avid doesn’t want to. By the way and others please correct me if I am wrong, Avid doesn’t seem to update or care as much about the Mac side of things.

How many cd’s are you making? If you are making a demo reel that you are sending out or even handing out, and since you haven’t done this before, I suggest paying a professional for this. Since your demo reel is very important and the goal is to get them to actually watch it. There is no shame in paying someone to do this. Unless you plan on making cd’s for people. You might also want to go ahead and make a case for it with a business card and a roledex card as inserts. Just a suggestion.
