Hi,

I did some tests with P2 cards and I was not able to fix the clips. I suggest the drive. It also turned out that the drive eventually failed. You may be using a bad Firestore drive creating the clips.

Hi,

I don’t have a fix in FCP for your problem. It seems to be internally dependent on the Firestore system. It happens a lot with the drive. I think it has to do with the media drive randomly putting clips out of order. Some times the clips are not in the same order as shot, but everything is stored in the drive for transfer. I recommend renting a Firestore and then fixing all clips as necessary. The one day rental of a drive can save a lot of headache.

Hi,

Here is the remedy to the problem I received from other advice.

This is my process that fixed the non-transferable video:

1) All the media needed to be transferred back in to the hard drive. I attempted to only transfer the media clips with errors.

2) I used the ‘Repair Clip’ feature for the clips with errors. This resulted in new file names and sometimes the clips were slightly changed in length because the spanned media clips were grabbing information from different bits of media.

3) I re-organized the P2 media in the hard drive.

4) I was able to delete the media I didn’t need to fix. Thus the result was I only needed to re-capture a few clips into the FCP environment.

1) The video file is there. All the ‘clips’, ‘audio’, ‘icon’, and ‘video’ numbers look to be there. I didn’t delete clips in the field.

2) The video plays correctly in the ‘Log and Transfer’ viewer and independently in Quicktime. It just doesn’t transfer into FCP.

3) I unchecked the ‘Remove Pulldown’. One of the clips worked correctly for importing. Others are still non-transferable.

4) I started using one word names to just get them into FCP. Then I would rename.
