My save file was completely messed up after the update. All my key frames and chroma work from a previous project were not matched up at all. Everything appeared to be zoomed in and messed up. I fixed the issue by going to the “Select Playback Resolution” and switching from 1/2 to “Full.” Not sure why the update did that.

I’m with you, I absolutely love Sony Vegas Pro, but it’s just not marketed well. I am in the process of learning Adobe Premiere CC Pro and so far I like it, but not as much as Vegas. With so many jobs requiring knowledge of the Adobe suite, I had to make the jump over to Adobe. I hope Sony does a good marketing campaign, because it truly is a great piece of software.

Also, I am getting “Production Assistant requires Vegas Pro. A compatible Vegas Pro installation could not be found. The installer will now close. Your system has not been modified.

Sorry guys, I transferred over all the data files and when I tried to fire up the “PALauncher” I got the message “Vegas Pro Production Assistant installation may be corrupt. Cannot find the Registry entry. Please re-install.”
That is as far as I can get. Thanks for the help guys.

Totally agree Stephen. I do all my editing with Vegas Pro at my job and do FX work with After Effects. I think it’s a great combo. So jobs DO exist where Vegas Pro is used, but FCP is definitely more mainstream.
Everything on this site below is edited with Vegas Pro. I find it to be a fantastic editor. I render out h.264 files in After Effects so the video can play on cell phones and other mobile devices.

Thanks guys. I think I just had the pixel format at 32 bit because it made the colors pop, but now that I understand what it is and that it’s not necessary to my project, I won’t have to worry about that issue.

Weird! I just adjusted the “Pixel Format” setting from 32-bit floating point (full range) to 32-bit floating point (video levels) and that enabled me to make changes to the view transform tab and the settings stuck this time. Every single time I load up a project the view transform tab is automatically set to “ACES RRT (sRGB). I wonder if this has something to do with my monitor settings and Vegas is adjusting to it. Not sure. Hopefully this isn’t an issue for anyone else.

I was having the same issues until I went to “Options” then “preferences” then on the video tab you will see “GPU acceleration of video processing” and I had my card selected. Well I turned that off and my rendering has been great ever since. Weird!
