Thank you, Jon…I’ll give that a shot.

I tried it once but it didnt work because the clip i was trying to link to was video-only whereas the original clip was audio and video. 🙂

    Thanks for the response, Jon.

I understand that it’s double-compression, but I’m hoping it’ll look better than the mpeg version.

Anyway…how do i unlink and relink to another file? i can’t figure it out. thanks in advance.

    OK…a follow-up question…

the avi file is like 30 minutes long, and I will make a number of sequences out of that file…

every time I grab a segment of the avi file and take it from the source monitor to the sequence i would then have to go to the “effects control” tab and scale the clip…

is there a way to scale 30-minute avi file rather than scaling each and every clip that i insert into a sequence. (ie, can i do the scaling function one time on the original avi clip rather than having to do it 100 times to the subclips?)

    I’m using PP2.

    Thanks again 🙂

    Yikes! Thanks Vincent!

Is there any way to ease my pain?

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Mike-

I just started reading about compression, and I now understand that this makes things difficult.

I was hoping there was some trick???
