wow. final someone is thinking like the red. Go Canon. Don’t let red completely run away with it. Around $2000 for the body.
interesting . . .

I’d been keen on some people sharing this info too. The intensity card is for sure the cheapest at $250 but no laptop solution yet. Having a 100 foot cable from my mac pro doesn’t seem to appealing. But man getting a intensity card with a laptop would rock. I love the idea of capturing real time too. Did it all the time with gl1.
thanks

thanks for your response David.
I have all my bays full on my mac pro.
I’m doing some video editing and I wondering what my options are for storage.
So I’m looking to add storage onto my mac pro externally. There’s SATA Raid pci cards and eSATA pci cards. I hear Raid is faster but how fast does it need to be? My SATA drives are not on a Raid and there fine for 1080p real time editing.
Could I get a SATA raid pci card, 4 1tb drives, a power supply and 4 SATA cables and plug them in to my mac pro?
That seems a cheap way to go.
under $500 after shipping probably?
thanks for your help mate.

October 24, 2008 at 6:50 am in reply to: does 44.1 khz audio play at different speed then 48 khz?ok so I converted the mp3 to aiff 48khz but it’s still off from the video.
it is better but not close enough to use more then 30 seconds before it’s obvious it’s out of sync.
maybe I rendered out the video wrong. I may have not used 29.97.
should it line up in theory if they are both 48khz?
what other factors come into play here?
thanks alot

October 22, 2008 at 7:18 pm in reply to: does 44.1 khz audio play at different speed then 48 khz?capturing my hv30 using the apple https://support.apple.com/kb/HT2410 work flow.
but changing the frame rate to 29.97 instead of 23.97.
capturing audio and video from camera same time same firewire.
but i’d like to use my Olympus digital recorder for audio cause it’s nicer.
but the olympus recorders wma. I use a free converter to convert wma to mp3.
I’ll try converting the mp3 to aiff 48khz with itunes like you suggested.
let me know if you need more info
thanks alot for the help

yeah i think i’m going to try and edit with hdv.
then get my piece done.
then render out to proRes for color correction.
then render out to H.264.
Can you guys see any potential problems with this?
thanks

thanks that worked.
I’m finding that 24p is quite jittery on the pans and zooms. 30p seems much nice.
do I need to use compressor to capture 30p footage the same way I used it for 24p?
