    hv30 1080 24p alternative work flows

    I’ve read and used apples hv30 24p work flow. it seems like a waste to me. couldn’t I skip the second part of converting it to pro res?

    I’m no expert so I’m hoping someone with more experience can help me.

    I’m thinking of editing my piece with hdv footage then when I’m done render it out to pro res and then maybe h.264.

    Pro res is nicer I know to work with in some ways, color is better. But the files are bigger and don’t seem to play as well as hdv in the timeline.

    Is color the main reason why I should edit with pro res over hdv?

    Does the program Color like pro res better?

    Does anyone edit with hdv first and then convert to pro res and like it?

    yeah i think i’m going to try and edit with hdv.

    then get my piece done.

    then render out to proRes for color correction.

    then render out to H.264.

    Can you guys see any potential problems with this?
