So, after some more reading; apparently the parametric shapes cannot be edited with the pen tool to add/adjust vertices, etc. If I want an editable bezier path, I have to create it with the pen tool. Probably best to just create what I need in Illustrator and bring it into AE.

It’s a parametric shape I drew with the rounded rectangle tool. I should be able to edit it with the pen tool… right?

Hi Peter,
I’m using the “Vibrant” film mode with no tweaks; 1080p24 “24H”. I noticed that I have iDynamic set to “High”. I don’t remember why I set it there and frankly I haven’t noticed if it is activating when I shoot. I typically punch in a white balance preset then tweak to taste. I’m also encoding to ProRes (LT).

Peter, I’m not seeing the same banding artifacts in the interviews that I have done with the GH2. The last few I shot had a similar light/shadow gradient background and I thought it looked pretty decent.
This is a screengrab I took directly from the original MTS file, then sized down for the web in Photoshop. There is some banding, but nothing like what shows up in your interview. What are your camera settings and what are you encoding to for editing?

Chances are the projectile is going to be moving so fast that you will need way more than 60 fps to capture it.

I’m using the JuicedLink DT454 XLR box. It has very clean preamps and I’m running the output right into my GH2. I’m actually recording better audio now than I was when using my HVX with built in XLR. I’m very happy with this system.
