In general, it’s best to have one drive for your OS/applications and a separate drive for your projects/video, media, etc. You can try using your existing configuration and if it is problematic you can add an external firewire 7200rpm drive later.

I also have a 17″ 2011 Macbook Pro, and I just replaced my optical drive with a 750GB HDD. My boot drive is a 250 GB SSD. I haven’t had a chance to edit off the HDD yet, but I got it to do just that when I want to go mobile. In general, it’s best to keep all your media on a drive other than the system drive. So, in your case you should put your events/projects/video files on the 750GB HDD.
Not sure about the frame dropping. Are you running your playback quality on ‘high quality’ or ‘better performance’?

You should run the wireless lavs into a mixer and output to a recording device. Use in-camera audio as a sync track.

Hi, Bill:
How do the GH2 and GH3 compare image-wise. I’m mostly interested in moire and low light performance. And, where did you pick up your GH3? Thanks! I’ll be taking delivery, today, of a Panasonic LEICA 25mm/F1.4!

December 3, 2012 at 8:37 pm in reply to: how to add logos instead of text to a fcpx title presetYes, if you have Motion, then you can add a logo and save it as a new preset. You can also publish controls for the logo, such as scaling, position, etc. I have done this exact thing. Very handy!

[John Davidson] “Excited about the fusion thing too.”
I’m not sure about the Fusion drive. How is this better than a discrete SSD for the OS & applications and a second internal HDD for media?
