[John Canimotti] “I graduated from Drexel University in the spring of 2004 with a BS in Business Administration/Marketing.”

I got a degree in Digital Arts & Filmmaking, but what probably would have served me better as a self-employed person, is a degree in business and marketing. I rock at the video part & stink at the business part. But anyway, what you need is some experience and a nice reel before you go into business for yourself. As someone on this forum has said before; you need to work for someone else, doing what you want to do, before you go into business for yourself. I freelanced at an ad agency for a couple of years, which was invaluable experience, IMO.

Yeah, the Litepanels Micro is slightly better than no light, but not much. If money were no object, I’d go for the Zylight.

Sorry, Dan! I guess you didn’t catch my facetious tone. You originally wrote “1GB per second“.

[Dan Brockett] “Are you sure it will be 1GB per second?”

1GB per second sounds pretty good to me! 🙂

[Norman Pogson] “I agree I like the 7D footage and the ability to use some of my old Nikkor lenses.”

Whoa! You can use old Nikkors on the 7D? Tell me more…

January 31, 2010 at 4:00 am in reply to: teleprompter

With mine it’s just a VGA cable. I have a 15″ LCD prompter which works great for most things. Although, if the talent needs to be 20 feet from the camera you probably want a larger prompter.

[Bill Evelyn] “I have a “walk and talk” host with a white seamless backdrop. I’m looking at seamless paper and see it no wider than nine feet, and I know I’m going to need more.”

I was just on a shoot where we were using a 12′ roll of seamless white paper for the backdrop. Unfortunately, I don’t know where it came from.

[Al Herr] “What controls the teleprompter scrolling of text ? Software on my laptop?”

That’s how mine works. I got one from Prompter People several years ago. It’s the only one I’ve ever used so I can’t comment on other brands.

[Dan Archer] “Wacom Intous, Model PTZ631W.”

Same one here. I love it. Before it got it, I had a lot of wrist pain from mouse use. No longer! My one wish is that it had a little scroll wheel built into the stylus.
