The quick answer is: Yes – there is a difference. My suggestion is you go with SMPTE-C as it is much closer to Rec.601 colorimetry specs being used by pretty much all colorspace calculations (with the exception of HD, that is).
The difference between the two has to do with the peak wavelength emission of each of the three primary color phosphors as well as the overall white point. See https://www.videoessentials.com/res_phosphors.php for several comparesons of phosphor gamuts.
