I have never owned or used a panasonic camera… so maybe I should stay away from them..
I have however used an HV20 from cannon many time (I don’t own it) I imagening the optics are the same from the HV20,30 and HF series or similar.
it takes great hd footage but it gets blocky if you film SD on it…. however that many have something to do with lighting.. not really sure..
You could have told me it was a whole other camera using it from SD then HD.
I shot this with the HV 20 https://vimeo.com/13418341
it’s okay, I’m pretty shake with it in the beginning of the week I shot it, but I got using to holding it (using Xgrip) by the end of the week, I got steadier but about the only thing from the end of the week I used was the shaving cream pool clips…
if I don’t when the auction on the panasonic I will get a cannon probably but the Panasonic is currently about $100 with less than 1hr left..

yeah AVCHD or dslrs are the way to too..
I normally pefer cannons cameras, but I’m just not a fan of single CMOS chips. 3CMOS is fine..
the only ones I’ve been able to find reasonably cheap that are 3ccd are Panasonic’s.so I found these 3ccd
PANASONIC AG-HSC1U – Pro Line from 2007 3ccd small camera
PANASONIC HDC-SD5 – Same Camera
Panasonic HDC-SX5 – same as the one above with a dvd but want use dvd part, it is sliver sadly but these seam to be cheaper than he HDC-SD5 (probably because of color)..
not sure which one I’ll get depends on what I find at the time I get my student loan disbursement.

Yes I have, one of my friends just bought one and he loves it, however he doesn’t do extended recording.. I need to be able to record for a few hrs. and DSLRs over heart and get artifacts too from long runs, from what I read.

maybe the reason I’m not finding much and the one on ebay is so cheap is because it’s really a Panasonic AG-HSC1U and the P means PAL? probally does anyone know if the pal version shoots NTSC/ATSC too?

well I’ve decided to not buy an SD camera, because it will just be like throwing money away.. SD is at it’s end of life, no way around it.
even if I still like SD sometimes
[Everyone Still using Beta SP Cams please hold your comments to yourself’s about how much better looking SD is. :)]

1) – open GL is an api language to talk to gfx cards, providing accleration etc. similar to directx but faster and cross platform
2) I haven’t used after effect in a while, but I would assume it’s because you have it set some to do 5 passes, it will go through and render it 5 times then compare and do some other things to get the best image possible, similarly to how when you compress a video you normally don’t only do one pass as theres likely to be a computational error which may show in the video
hope this helps.

April 19, 2010 at 4:29 am in reply to: Blackmagic Intensity Pro Crashes to Blue Screen of DeathIt could be cause by the powersupply if you don’t have enough power. also it could be a mobo conflict or a bios config problem. the fact that it does it when install stuff sounds like it’s a driver issues or a chipset issues not a bad card.

I really doesn’t matter that there ported from linux. a lot of drivers for the mac are unix (since in fact mac os is a flavor of unix).. it’s just a matter of people modifying these drivers to run better on the mac after ported. but I wouldn’t except that to happend from any of the pcie card except. also if the driver isn’t supporting isochronous transfers, it isn’t conforming to the standards of USB. but it may still work as long as you only plug in the single device, basically isochronous support works similarly to to an IRQ, allowing it to take over when other things are going on when it needs it.
would I imaging apple will release a usb 3.0 driver update later this summer when the new mac pro comes out with the core i7 980 based xeon cpus (6 cores each) I would expect it to have built in usb 3.0 but that could be sometime. a friend that works for apple is saying he is hearing it will be out in late july or early august but it’s just speculation

sure to be overpriced if it’s from sonnet. I see most are about $30 so theirs I bet will be over $100
