  • You can also use the “Open in Timeline” command on synced clips. That way you don’t have to break the clips apart. You have to use it twice, first on the synchronized clip and then for the dual audio track. That’s how I mix my multitrack audio.

I’m also waiting eagerly what they come up with. Auto Duck is dead as the new 1.1 XML came out, so only way now is to use Xto7, which works but needs some tweaking to get the OMF or AAF out properly.

I have not seen any mention of OMF export with X2Pro, just AAF. Is this new information?

  • [Simon Ubsdell] “How do you plan to get your audio out for finishing?

    I keep my fingers crossed!
I just finished a documentary and went the Xto7 route. Actually I’m waiting an answer from Greg, since the latest update broke something, but I sure we can figure it out. It was all 25fps.

The feature I’m on now is a DSLR one (23.976 fps), so after I got it finished I hope there is an easier way.

  • [Walter Soyka] “What makes this forum so interesting to me are the diverse workflows represented. No one else here is doing feature work with FCPX (that I’m aware of)”

I am cutting a feature with FCPX and loving it.

The only way I have found so far to get to those iso tracks is to open the multicam clip in the Angle Editor. There you can enable or disable individual audio tracks. You can further open the main audio track using the Open in timeline command, but the bad news is that after that you don’t have any visual guide to edit with.

I see what you mean, but you can dig in to audio and edit the tracks separately (blade and slip trim the bumps) even if the multicam clip is in the storyline by using the angle editor plus the timeline. You just see the whole clip and not the edits you made. It’s a dirty workaround I know…but should work with simple dialog scenes where the action is “real time”.

I ment: In angle editor select the clip and use “open in timeline” (contextual)menu command.

I’m afraid it did. Either use Xto7 or wait few weeks for XtoPro to convert to AAF.
