  • I have solved this by right clicking on the clip in the timeline and looking at all the options. I found FRAME BLEND was checked and after unchecking it the clip now appears crisp in both Source Monitor and Timeline Monitor. Not sure how I checked it in the first place but thankful for having solved it. Posted in case this helps anyone else. Feel foolish after an hour or so trying to solve it!

Update. I Quit Encore, opened the folder containing my project (a folder above my ‘.ncor’ file of the same name. I then opened the ‘Sources’ folder and the ‘menus’ folder and dragged all files that looked like the rogue HD menus into the wastebasket. Now I can run a complete Check without a crash. However, the check reveals an invisible Menu (yes, the HD menu!) and makes a placeholder for it. BUT, the check runs and I can build discs no problem with this work around.

Glenn, I have the same problem, exactly the same. Once I managed to delete the submenus in the HD menu, but not the HD menu itself, and then it crashed again. Since then it has reloaded my project with the submenus back in, and I cannot even delete the submenus without a crash. Anyone got a fix for this yet? Jane
