    yes, i know, but the mid 2008 macbook i have only has FW400, that’s why i was looking into offline editing, and the fact that i don’t need to see the full-res clip resised to 33% on my laptop monitor if i don’t see it full screen on another display

    (wich anyway, with the intel chipset my mb has, even for 720p isn’t possible in RT, don’t know why, it plays 1080p mkv’s and 720p prores422 files in quick time like a charm, but in fcp i get 12-15 fps in fullscreen)

  • I have 2 gb RAM on the iMac. The 2 hdd’s on the PC are S-ATA2 in RAID 0.

    I made a test today, i captured on the iMac and then copied them on the windows share and pb them on the iMac and they played ok, at 50fps and the gigabit network was at 8-9%.

    When i copied them from mac to win it was @ 25-40%

    So i guess the problem comes from the iMac or FCP
