Thank you kindly for trying to help, I appreciate it. It’s a strange problem and I don’t understand it. Whenever the timeline is within a clip at the beginning, it just shows black in the preview window on any setting, as if it’s slightly behind. It makes precise editing difficult or near impossible. It randomly started with VEGAS Pro 13 on my original computer and I’ve only just purchased VEGAS Pro 16 for my new one.

I honestly don’t know. A friend converted the clip for me using their software months ago and gave it to me.

I did try your way of creating a timeline too. No luck; it still shows black in the preview window when I’m within the beginning of a clip. It’s the same with other clips and pictures I’ve tried too.

Please note that I’m not too knowledgable with computers and mostly taught myself how to use Vegas.

Timeline Settings:
I’ve never deeply tinkered with the timeline settings; all settings are usually default. The only things that are ticked are Enable Snapping, Snap to Markers and Snap to All Events. I turn Quantize to Frames off when I want to be more precise with editing, but the problem still exists either way. As for the time, it’s set at “Times and Frame”.

I tried using a short video clip and picture. I also did a brand new install of Vegas. It’s still the same.

I could/would do that if it was just this clip, but it appears to do this with all media sources. ☹ I recently experimented with a fresh picture from Google and it still did it.
