Thanks for your reply. FCP converted it to 48, and yet, it is still out of sync.

I did use a laptop and a software program called cool edit. My mistake, It was recorded at 32K and when I brought it into FCP, it converted it to 48K.

I recorded the sound on a software program called Cool Edit and the video on a Kodak Zi6. I dumped all of the footage onto my laptop via external drive and imported it straight to FCP. In this case, I am not aware of using a third party capture card.
