I just launched a new project in Vegas and everything pulled up except the video on the left. However, I still can’t see the video on the right?

When I move the start point, sometimes I’ll see the vid but when I stop the vid or move again the screen is always black therefore impossible to know where to cut the vid (Hmmm)

    Any tips on that one?

    Best,
    James

    Thanks J razz!

I got rid of the old audio, but I also have the old audio and the video straigh up above in the window to the left.

How do I get rid of that altogether (or am I supposed to).

If the time line is linked to the monitor on the right, isn’t that all I want or is the monitor on the left important as well?

    Thanks again,
    James

    Hey Joel,

I can’t help you with your question but perhaps you can help me with mine! 🙂

I’m looking at picking up Vegas Pro 9 and I have a quad core PC with 3 gigs of ram running XP Pro 32bit.

I’ll soon be producing professional training materials for a corporation. Each vid could be 30 to 60 min in length.

Right now I am TRYING to render a WMV file that’s 1 hour long using Windows Movie Maker 2 (I know I know.) Tt’s been like 2 hours and it STILL says 0% done and like 60 THOUSAND minutes remaining and counting.

Like “What the Heck???” Is it going to be THIS hard rendering video? What do I need? A 100 core Mac? Just PLEASE tell my all get the company to fund it!

I am rendering it to a separate HD from my C drive as well. Still no go.

Any tips on how to render PLUS what the heck DO I NEED for hardware etc. to make this rendering process a WHOLE lot faster!

    Hey John.

I see you have 25 Year owner/operator of two California-based production studios. COOL!

I wanted to ask you. I’m planing on getting Vegas Pro 9 soon (or whatever is better) and will be doing training videos for a large corporation.

What I need is not only a great program for editing with some FX, but also a program and a system that can render the vids fast.

Many of these vids could be 1 hour long and from what I’m hearing from others, that would take days to render 1 vid!

Some will be rendered to DVD (if that’s possible). BTW – can you render to DVD’s and if so can you do it on the fly? Also is that faster? Sorry… still new at all this.

We will have DVD’s for our reps but some of the vids will be uploaded for webinar training.

So what special equipment do I need? If money is no object, (beside a 100 core mac) what else do I need to speed this up?

    Thanks!

    Jamie
