How Do I Edit a 1 Hour WMV in Vegas Pro 9?
I was asked to take a go meeting webinar video (1 hour long) and edit out the glitches in the audio (which I did using Cubase). Now that the audio part is finished, I’m trying to use Vegas 9 Pro trial version to see how to easily edit the video to fit the new voice over (sounds easy enough right?)
The video file imported is 1 long power point presentation so all I need is to make sure the video follows the new edited voice over.
So far I just don’t seem to get it in Vegas. I see the video track, the old audio track, and the new on I imported below. But I just don’t understand how to simply splice the video and delete a piece, then slide the video over to match the new voice over.
I’ve been working audio for many years so to me, this seems like it should be that easy.
Any tips would be GREAT! Maybe someone has a link to a vid somewhere as well.

To ungroup the old audio from the video file click the audio file and press the U key. This will ungroup the audio from the video-then you can delete the old audio file.
To make cuts press the S key. This will Split the track event in two. If you click the timeline in the gray area below the video and audio track(s) and click S it will split both the audio and video and any other events on the timeline where your cursor is. If you click on just the audio or video (or shift click them to highlight both (or more)) then press S you will split just the selected event.

I got rid of the old audio, but I also have the old audio and the video straigh up above in the window to the left.
How do I get rid of that altogether (or am I supposed to).
If the time line is linked to the monitor on the right, isn’t that all I want or is the monitor on the left important as well?

I just launched a new project in Vegas and everything pulled up except the video on the left. However, I still can’t see the video on the right?
When I move the start point, sometimes I’ll see the vid but when I stop the vid or move again the screen is always black therefore impossible to know where to cut the vid (Hmmm)
Any tips on that one?
