I was kind of wondering if it’s a server issue of some sort? Like maybe they had an update on their end over the weekend and suddenly my machines are having trouble connecting. But I’m not even sure if CS5 needed to look anyplace?

Thanks,

So what did you end up with for media?
At the moment, I use clipwrap to wrap everything in an .mov file. I archive the originals. I then import the wrapped files into FCPX. That keeps my libraries as small as possible.
When you import the AVCHD files into FCPX, do you just have the one set of files? Or do you end up with originals and the wrapped files? Is the file size for the library double?

Not sure about that. I’ve had trouble with it even with the most recent version of FCPX. Maybe my laptop just doesn’t like it. Does this wrap the original files, or make new media that is FCPX friendly?

I edit a lot of footage from a set of Sony handycams – same problem with the AVCHD files. Brings my Macbook Pro to a slow crawl. Especially with 9 angles of AVCHD files in a multicam clip.
I now run everything through ClipWrap. It doesn’t actually convert anything, just wraps it. Very fast. And my Macbook loves the files. Wouldn’t edit AVCHD files without it.

July 7, 2015 at 11:39 pm in reply to: FCPX miniDV Capture via Camera Archive – losing mediaDoes your tape go all the way to the end? I had similar problems when the tape i was capturing went all the way to the end. FCPX would always erese the last clip. I found that if I stopped the capture a few seconds before the end of the tape it was fine (except that I didnt get the last few seconds). Partial tapes that didnt go to the end didn’t have this provlem.

Sorry Dave, should have mentioned that.
OS X 10.10.1
AE 11.0.4.2That was my first thought. I downloaded a new installer form Adobe. Then downloaded the most recent update from Adobe. No luck 🙁
Anyone else running CS6 on a Mac that could check this?
New comp. New Layer. CC Snow. Nothing.
New comp. New layer. CC Particular. CC Snow. Works just fine.
Same thing for rain or bubbles.
