Hans, that was sooo easy. I deleted the .pmr & .mdb files,restarted Media Composer, it scanned and all the media files are on-line now. Problem solved. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now I’ve got to do something about the timecode breaks, like never powering off the camera. Anyway I really appreciate the tip. James
