Actually, any idea why autorender starts up and tells me 50 mins but if i instigate a full render it says 13 hours!?

Yes, thanks Rafael. I did a couple of short tests earlier and it looks like the best bet is render everything first overnight as exporting following render is dead quick. I just wasn’t sure earlier that the key would be part of the render and therefore a waste of time. It’s still going to take about 80 hours to render the whole job though 🙁

Andrew, thanks yes i think that’s pretty much what i did this afternoon. My fatal mistake was starting with a 1440 sequence, i should have just let FCP do it’s thing!

Yes it is but as i say my 1440 source is now squashed. don’t get it.

Thanks Steve, yes all footage is in pro res and i’ve tried copying everything into a new 1920 timeline. I also re-exported the keynote at 1920 this afternoon and re-connected this file to the sequence. The result is that the background now looks fine but my 1440 footage is now squashed. Any ideas?

Hello

the problem is if i move to safe rt i have to render which is gonna take forever. maybe i’m being dumb (as a newbie!) but i thought if you let FCP match clip settings when dragging in you shouldn’t need to render? The original capture was HDV 1080i50 25 fps, the sequence settings are the same.
