I think it has something to do with Adobe Dynamic Link. When I copy/paste the footage from Premiere into AE, I don’t get the issue while saving.

    Version 15.1.2 (Build 69)

It also does that thing where it seems to be unresponsive for a few seconds as I’m saving just before it resets the workspace.

I’m really just looking to see if there’s a quick work-around inside After Effects.

My particular situation involves applying the Prolost Burns preset for a video slideshow, and every so often I’ll get a picture that needs to be rotated. When I rotate the layer within the main comp, it messes up my effect, causing the scale amounts and center point within the effect not to respond correctly. I’ve found the easiest way to counter this is to precompose the picture, leaving the Burns effect in the layer in the main comp. I’d like to just quickly take the width and height in this new precomp and swap them while rotating the picture in the precomp. I know I’d essentially just be skipping a couple steps, but over time, making these precomps really adds up.

3 steps as opposed to 10, basically.

Oh wow, yes, that one works well. I guess I didn’t think to try it, thinking the file size would be too large. I tried using DNxHD, but couldn’t get the Alpha to work correctly when I brought it into Premiere. Thanks, Dave!

Any ideas as to why the Animation codec would be so sketchy, though?

    Nice. Thanks!

How do I get it based on frames and not seconds?

  • It seems to work if I export it from Cinema 4D as a Wavefront (OBJ) file, but it seems to hide all my color. Is there a way around this?

  • Is there anything else I can do?

  • Yes sir, that’s where I get the error message.
