The problem I had with BCC slow down was also related to setting the card to Single Monitor Mode. That did the trick with BCC and Marquee. Marquee would take 5-8 seconds to render a preview of one frame when doing graphics with light and extrusion. After setting to Single Monitor Mode, preview render of one frame was under 1 sec. Do you see anything similar with Marquee when you work with Light enabled and extrusion on a text, so as to make it 3D?

If you apply an FX to the track above all the other tracks, it will affect everything below. This is nice as you might want to make an series of shots black and white or sepia, add to the top layer and with one effect, you’ve affected all the clips. To isolate this to one track, do as MPE suggested and step into the layer to add the CC to that one particular layer. This is also referred to as nesting effects.

MXF is a wrapper for files. So saying something is MXF is like saying you have a car, doesn’t really tell me anything about what is under the hood. So you could have DV25, 50, IMX 50 in an MXF wrapper.

As for compatibility with AE, not sure, never tried.
