I guess this is a good thing for others. If someone else has this issue, They can come here and see the solution.I am going to build a new PC soon and i’ll ensure i don’t install any of the k-Lite codecs.
Thank you all so much for helping me; I can not describe how great full I am for you helping me here.Thanks everyone! 😀

November 4, 2012 at 6:10 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas 11 – Very slow playback in Preview windowI have sony vegas pro 11 (64 Bit) Build 683
I have installed K-Lite before but it said a load of registry files were broken, it says it every time (so I guess it has something to do with it but I don’t know how to fix it). I haven’t installed any more codec packs due to k-lite being the only one I know of.As far as “What else do you have installed on your computer?”. I have pretty much; Sony Vegas, Cinema 4D R14 and a few games off steam. I have 1.5TB of free hard drive space so i’m sure that’s not an issue

November 4, 2012 at 12:51 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas 11 – Very slow playback in Preview windowYeah, i go to;
File > Import > Media > (find the first frame of the sequence) > Tick the box at the bottom for “Open still image sequence”My graphics card is a Gigabyte – GeForce GTX 560 Ti and it is currently on version 306.23 in the NVidea control panel. It seems that even when I enable/disable the GPU acceleration doesn’t make any difference to the playback, Should I get a new graphics card do you think?
(also I’m a gamer so I would want to get the best Graphics card to play the games 😉 )

November 4, 2012 at 12:28 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas 11 – Very slow playback in Preview windowYeah, I export a scene into Png Frames that are all numbered; Sony vegas works out where each frame needs to go automaticly.
Stab in the dark here but it seems that Graphics card acceleration doesn’t make a difference to the playback quality; Would this mean that my Graphics card isn’t usable by sony vegas improve video playback? -

November 4, 2012 at 12:16 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas 11 – Very slow playback in Preview windowYeah, I am an animator and I do just that 😀
I use Cinema 4D to export a sequence at 30fps and then I do what you have said above.
Unfortunetly this gives me a headache when coming to the editing stages due to it still being laggy in the preview window. -

Ok, I started a new project and imported a .avi that was the 4 second image sequence.
Unfortunetly still no luck. I still have the same problem as before, I have noticed that below the preview window when it skipps through frames there is a area called “frame” and it has “….” when i try to play the clip. Would this be anything that would help you identify my problem?
