    Thanks for the reply Joel.

Yeah, I’ll have a ccu with two component outs. I will most definitely look into utilizing those, thanks.

I saw that other thread link that you posted. Actually, I started this thread because that thread had some misinformation which the person that posted it discovered and acknowledged later, so I was hoping to get a fresh reply to the timecode question.

So, if I have two D50 cameras, with (2) ccu’s, I suppose I could take time code out of one of the cameras (from the ccu?) and send that to the LTC input on the Ki Pros? But, wondering if I can loop or if I need to distribute the timecode from the camera / ccu.

Again, if this is event the best way.

We just tried going out of a folsom presentation pro, component out, 1024 x 768 59.97hz directly into the component input on the kipro and can not get a signal. We take that same cable right into a monitor and it’s good to go, so the cable is good and the output is there.
We’ve tried all of the different syncs on the input selection of the kipro component input to no avail.
    Suggestions?

April 9, 2010 at 11:20 am in reply to: Switcher recommendation?

Hello! I do live events for a living and have used both the MX70 and 50 when the input sources are strictly composite/S video.
You just had a bad switcher! Now, the mx50 is an older switcher so of course that increases the possibility of problems. I used the mx70 just last week with no problems.

My suggestion, find 2 – 3 local video equipment rental companies and find out their reputation for equipment reliability. Then just have them spec out for you which switcher they recommend from their inventory to match your needs and budget.

Also, check out bexel.com. I cross rent from them often.
