I send to compressor and export as wav where I use third party audio programs to denoise, compress, dereverb, etc. I import that WAV back into FCPX under a new name, and FCPX is confusing the clip names, relinking them in the timeline with a new clip.

Just to clarify, I’m creating new files, that’s whats so strange. This has caused some of the clips to go offline. Also some of the original clips are in the timeline under the original name, yet are in fact not the original clip but the clip that was altered. When I do reveal in event, it brings me to what FCPX names the original clip, I then do reveal in finder, where it brings me to the altered clip. This is a serious problem if audio can not be layered in the timeline.

Plugs that malfunction in FCPX work perfectly fine in other programs. If the plugs didn’t function in Prem or Smoke, MC, I would indeed blame the third party. I really don’t want to stir up a debate on FCPX being bad, there’s a whole thread I found for that.

I’m not talking about the Demo, the full version will work initially, as cuts are made it will slowly degrade until you’re adjustments are rendered useless. Andy let’s agree to disagree.

I don’t want to argue, the plugs work in Smoke and Prem, RX3 is not the only plug with issues in Final Cut. Perhaps I should have left out my disgust for the program in my question. If Final Cut works for you that’s great. Anyway, the problem is solved. And let all know who plan on using the RX3 plug in Final Cut, it’s broken, and you’re better off exporting the audio from RX3 with set adjustments into FC.

Part of an editing software’s responsibility is to work seamlessly between 3rd party software. We’re talking about a program that launched with no XML. I won’t enter this debate, I only used it because an editor, (the one who was fired) started the cut in it. Have fun with your broken toy.

It was a problem with RX3 plug altered clips. I blame final cut, not RX3. Bought Smoke, XMLED out of Final Cut, (luckily that finally works), working fine in Smoke. Good bye, Final Cut.

Well there’s a couple different grades going on. The sunset with the girl has a very slight blue tint added to the blacks and orange added to mids and highlights. The blacks are definitely not crushed for most shots, so just raise the shadow a bit for that look. Blue and Orange is a common look used by colorists by the way because of the contrast.

Hello there, any help? I’d really prefer not to copy and paste my nodes? Is there anyway to do this on import? I’m using a new workflow so I’m a little at a loss here.

Yep, the 10 beta now allows a maximum of 3840X2160. Only 2k for DCP though
