  • I’m not sure I was able to complete the process successfully. I got as far as finding the file on my drive and the file name appeared in the right hand column. However, when I selected the file name I was unable to locate an upload button. So, I was not able to complete the rest of your instructions as you detailed above.

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

  • I haven’t uploaded anything yet in this forum. I’m not sure how to do it and what file size limitations there are.

Please let me know the file upload process and file size limitations. The size of the C4D file is about 16.5 MB. If that’s too big perhaps a screen shot like you suggested might work instead.

    Please advise.

    Thanks!

  • Yes. In the C4D file I have a green background. When I view the rendered QuickTime movie the green background is not seen at all through the animated figure. Also, when I import the rendered movie into Final Cut and apply a Keyer to it, the green background is keyed, however, the animated figure appears at 100% opacity with no transparency.

  • I highlighted all of the elements of the figure and applied the Display Tag set to 60%. Then I made sure that Transparency was enabled in the Render Settings and rendered the animation. After the render was complete, the figure in the render still showed up at 100% opacity even though visibility in the Display Tag was set to 60%.

Any other ideas why it is not displaying as semi-transparent?

    Thanks.

Thanks so much for all of the info above. It has helped to clear the fog somewhat. For the moment, I think I’ll just stay with C4D, but I will also keep an eye on the others you so well brought to my attention.

    Thanks again!

Thanks so much for your help.

Now it works with the help of the Animation Tool. In R17 its buried a lit bit. But, once I located it, it works.

    Your help is most appreciated!

I’m not familiar with what Animation Tool you’re referring to – where it’s located and how to use it. I’ve looked and searched in C4D with no luck. Please advise how to locate it and use it. Thanks for your reply!

I posted the problem to the link site you suggested. But, through trouble shooting I found the culprit.

When I used the FCPX Compressor in the audio processing of the file for YouTube, the problem appeared. Although it only began about 30 second in and only lasted about 20 seconds.

But, when I took the Compressor out of the loop, the problem disappeared. By the way, all along I was using either WAV or AIF files.

Interesting anomaly. But, you cued me to look in this direction when you suggested above “Never start with a compressed codec for your master.” You were right. Thanks for the tip.

July 8, 2015 at 5:21 pm in reply to: Audio Popping/Clicking Sound in YouTube Playback

I think I found the culprit.

But, before I get to that, thanks for the tips you gave. The sampling rates between the project and the audio file did not match. So, I corrected that, tested and the problem was still there. Then I tested it on a another computer and the problem was still there. Curiously, though the clicking started about 30 seconds into the video and then vanished about 20 seconds later.

So, I decided to to try out a version where I did not include the FCPX Compressor as part of the audio processing when it exported to YouTube. Now, the clicking is gone from YouTube playback. It appears that the FCPX Compressor was somehow introducing the clicking in playback from YouTube, but not when playing the file in FCPX.

Thanks again for your tips. Your best practices suggestions I will be sure to make use of.

If you have any further thoughts on this Compressor issue, please let me know.
