My 2 cents here:
Live streaming, in my opinion, is best done from a computer, so, using that camera (I’m not familiar with it and don’t have the energy right now to look it up), you’d take a video output and go to a video input on a computer and from the computer run a video streaming software… The specific software you use would depend on where you’re streaming it too…
(ok, I decided to do a 5 second look at what that camera was and it’s a nice low end pro or high end prosumer.. it’s very nice and one i’d by myself if I needed a very good camera).
It has a mini hdmi connector, so you can use that along with a very inexpensive hdmi input on a computer and then use that computer to do the live streaming…
The camera has built in the ability to stream video via wifi to a computer or tv, but you would still need to have a computer to then do a good online stream because the computer will transcode the video signal to multiple bit rates and you’d need to do a bit of ‘hack’ work to get a standard streaming software to do that, so my opinion is that it’s best to directly connect through hdmi… Also, the info I said, says that it can play recordings via wifi, but it didn’t specify that it could do good quality live too, so that just reinforces to me to use hdmi in your case…
As for what software to use, that really depends on where you’re streaming too… If you’re streaming to youtube live for example, you use their software, and you would then need to look at their software docs for the minimum system requirements and you can then check recommended and decide from there…
fyi, I run the technical side of a tv network that does 24/7 live streaming online, so you have some info on where my opinions come from…
I’d be happy to discus this further with you if you’d like, but i’ll be rather slow in responding because I’m extremely busy at the moment…

Another update on this product…
I just spoke with my developer, and the audio hardware has been designed and built (10 initial units for testing have been made) for testing…
I would love to talk to anyone that’d be interested in a product like this!
It’s brand new, just coming out, so I’d be happy to give discounts to a few people who wanted to work with me on getting the final testing working with different setup’s…
Also, if anyone is interested in selling them for me, I’d be happy to discus it with them and how to move forward with that!

I figured I’d just leave it there…
If there’s ever a request to take it down, I’ll have to remove it, but it’s there for the time being, and I figure it’ll be there for some time before Panasonic even finds out about it, and if it does at some point, it’ll hopefully be old enough that they wont care any more 🙂

I agree with the others about the problem being with the recording software…
If you really like that recording software and don’t want to try something else, you can try using a tool such as ffmpeg which is freeware as well and should be able to straighten out your original video files into new video files that will work well with Vegas…
That’s just a middle ground, I would seriously consider a different recording software though… OBS as someone else mentioned is a great tool.. I’ve used it once or twice and it’s very powerful and works great.

Just wanted to post an update on this project of mine!
I’m getting much closer to having a solution to the sound…
We’ve pretty much exhausted the purely software type of solutions because of some limitations of the hardware we’re starting with so now we’re looking to add a few bits of hardware to the project so that should get out audio checks working… just sent the project specs from my developer to his hardware engineer a few days ago to get the hardware lined up properly… this shouldn’t increase the hardware cost of this device by much…
We currently have a product that I’m using all the time and power consumption is very low, even though it’s working through wifi.. I think that this device will be a great solution for any one that does online streaming for more than a few minutes at a time… Once we get the Audio part working, I believe that we’ll even be able to customize the upper and lower threshold so that if it’s too loud or too soft for too long it’ll let you know.

I have worked with a similar (though smaller) system in a church in the past…
My solution at the time was to keep the video and the audio running through the same equipment whenever possible… the person who had setup the system ran the video though a computer based video switcher and the audio through a regular sound mixer but the computer based switcher caused a delay in the video whereas the audio had no such delay. they were messing about with trying to put a delay into the audio and trying to link it up, I ran the audio through the computer mixer and the sync was all together in the video output…
For your in-room video situation, I’d look at using a better video converter from sd to hd then run a live hdmi video mixer so as to reduce any delay…

Well, since you said that there was an interest let me tell you a bit more about what i’ve got working and what i’m still working on for this…
I’ve got a device that the hardware cost is so far much less then $100. It checks the video part of the video about every 3 seconds to see if it’s frozen or black, and then, if it stays black for about 60 seconds then it emails me, texts me, and also calls me on the phone. If the stream isn’t fixed, it’ll keep up contacting me in all three ways till it’s fixed…
I’m now working with my developer to get it to be checking similar with the audio and hope i’ll have that part done in the next week or two…
This solution will work with a large number of video streaming services including rtmp, livestream.com, ustream.com and many more… just as an fyi, i’m using livestream.com as my test bed and it’s working great so far…
I must add, that the option to have it call me uses an outside service that costs some money, but very little… $1 a month for it to have a phone number then a few cents a minute when it calls me with alarms. Emails and Texts are free with my current setup.
Would love to have a more direct communication with you to discus this project with me…

You know, I’ve never been part of an interview with them, but I have seen Fox News use Skype at times in the past, as well as unbranded ways…
If you (or your client) is going to be giving a remote interview with Fox, they’ll make the arangements with him/her before hand… if it comes down to it though, they have the ability to use skype so things shouldn’t be too hard…
I’m thinking it’s most likely that they have a program that they’ll provide that’ll take care of most/all of the streaming parts…
