Good evening
Mr. Rofrano, i’m not using Pro 10, but Pro 9. Nonetheless, there is an issue that i’ve just started having and was wondering if you had heard of this before: I am starting a new 720P project. I have about 35 2-minute clips that need to be imported into Vegas. I get about 28-30 of them in and then get a low memory message, clips start to turn sold red, crazy stuff. 4 GB of memory and no other programs running. What is your method for importing clips into a new project? I’m starting to think my process is the problem. I appreciate any help you can give me

Good afternoon Mr. Rofrano!
It is me again. I’ve been moving along a bit since chatting with you last. I’m now at the point where i’m about to buy a Blu Ray burner. I don’t want to watch movies – just output to Blu Ray format. I currently have Power DVD 10 installed. After buying the Blu Ray burner, is there anything else that would be needed to simply render to Blu Ray from Vegas and then burn to Blu Ray? I keep hearing about ‘Any DVD HD’ and other ‘helper’ programs that enable you to WATCH, but I only need to burn. I appreciate any insight you can offer.

April 22, 2011 at 3:43 pm in reply to: Pro Style Titler – changing the font AFTER the fact….The system has enough resources, but I think this issue of ‘everything turning red’ is in some way related to the multiple effects (fades, degaussing, etc.) being used on the specific block of letters i’m referring to. I started another project from scratch and used only 1 letter to see if I could recreate my problem. I could not. So I then removed every effect from the project I initially wrote about and then applied the color change. Perfect! I then went back to add the effects that I removed. STILL perfect! Again, Sir, you are the Man. Imagine the surprise when I found the Vegas Pro 8 editing manual a couple of days ago (I wasn’t kidding when I said that I am the newest of the newbies) and saw that you are prominently featured. Small world. Enjoy your weekend.

April 18, 2011 at 6:37 pm in reply to: Pro Style Titler – changing the font AFTER the fact….Thanks again. I have applied everything you’ve explained to me today and all is well – except for one thing. When I go in to edit my text (a simple keyframed color change), the entire workspace screen in titler turns red. I’ve checked to make sure i’m changing the stroke and not the background, but red is what I get. Have you ever seen this?

April 18, 2011 at 4:24 pm in reply to: Pro Style Titler – changing the font AFTER the fact….Again, thank you. I just tried that and it worked (I thought I was doing just that at home over the weekend, but these results show me that I wasn’t). A couple of quick ones also related to Pro Titler. How do you add a few seconds to the end of the title? When I add time it also changes my keyframe points. Lastly, where do I start the process of changing the color of my fonts using the titler? Am I correct in assuming that I can also use the edit text option for this as well?

That made PERFECT sense. I now know what I must do to do what I want to do. I’m gonna grab a Blu Ray burner and some BD-r media and take it from there. After reading through the responses of people that had similar questions, I understand WHY my DVD looked as it did. I’m confident that when I burn to the appropriate media I will have a nice product because i’m using your project setting recommendations. Again, thank you for everything and I truly meant what I said about you always being there to help. Enjoy the rest of your day, Mr. Rofrano.

Thank you for the point in the right direction. I just want to make sure of what I need before I start grabbing stuff. I really appreciate the explanation about the terminology – it’s more than obvious that I need it. Thanx, Mr. Shirley!

I am rendering out using the DVD Widescreen settings. Nonetheless, it makes perfect sense that I need a burner capable of BURNING to HD rather than SD. The question I have now – do not laugh – is that does a Blu Ray burner solve this issue by allowing me to still burn to DVD-r in high definition, or will I now need to use Blu Ray media?

Thanks a million – YOU ALWAYS are the guy that answers my novice questions. I really appreciate your help. I know it can be frustrating at times to teach something that is second-nature to you. I understood your point regarding needing a Blu Ray burner to burn HD video. I have to ask this (and I’m asking YOU because you never respond with the ‘all-knowing ego’ that some of the other guys here have and this does feel like a silly question). To burn HD I need a Blu Ray player. Here is where i’m confused: The Blu Ray player will burn to HD format AND Blu Ray, or is it just that Blu Ray IS the HD format for DVD?
