November 11, 2014 at 3:44 pm in reply to: problem with motion tracker, boris fx trialversion in vegas proThank you John,
I knew it was something I was not getting. I’ve got it tracking now.
Still guess I need a tutorial on using the multiple settings on the wire remover since it’s tracking but the wire isn’t getting removed.
Any suggestions where I can get a good tutorial on all the tracking CF, end 1 end 2 etc? settings and what they do?
I’ll get it and it will be handy, but it’ll take a bit more explanation since I’m not getting it just yet.
Anyway, thank you for your help, it’s always great and very much appreciated.
Best regards,

Thanks for getting back with your help,it’s much appreciated.
I don’t believe I am using Dynamic Ram Preview as the the Max (MB) setting in video is zero. According to the help info on 13, that turns off Dynamic Ram Preview. Was that what you were referring to?
Any suggestions, got to be something dumb I’m doing, clip is short and not very complicated.

I saw that, what is puzzling is the clip is 23 seconds and 11 frames long at 30fps.
Sort of a bit short of the 30,000… I’ve got to be missing some important point…
Really appreciate your help.

Your tutorials are great. I’ve gotten bcc9 for Vegas Pro 13 and am trying to get it working. It seems to have a lot more controls than those you’ve discussed and it would be super helpful if you could do a new tutorial showing us how to use this handy tool.A big problem I have is the same one mentioned here. I have the clip as the only clip in the project, it’s a the beginning of the time line and I can’t get too far into playing the clip before I get “Look ahead exceeded. Please rewind to Frame 70 (or whatever) etc.”
I’m missing something important but darned if I can figure out what it is. I see the tracing working so I’ve got that, sort of, working I think but can’t see enough to know.
Any help at this stage would be mucho appreciated.
Thanks,

November 11, 2010 at 12:24 pm in reply to: EX-3 Starting & Stopping Recording with 35mm Lens Mounted –As a followup to my thread, the ideas everyone has given me are much appreciated. After a lot of digging, I’ve learned there is an answer besides the record button or an assigned button and the remote.
That is to pay about $2000 for an electronic camera controller that lets you basically run and set everything remotely, like from a jib.
Sure seems like having that bit of electronics on the lens moved to the body somewhere so you can plug in a simple controller would make more sense for 95% of the users.
My solution after a lot of looking was to take everyone’s advice and just assign the record button to an assignable button. Not great since I feel like a piano player running this but at least it’s workable.
Thanks to everyone for their help.

Only two solutions I’ve run into are the wildly expensive Sony Remote Controllers and your solution of using an assignable button. I’ll use #3 for it and hope someone out there has a solution that uses the remote plug….
One has to wonder why would you build a plug that you need a $2500 controller to use? Seems like one that would control the lens like the plug on the lens would make more sense…
