[Michael Gissing] “how does the community feel about the pace and improvements to X by comparison?”

I continue to experiment with Resolve, but it is still is subpar and clunky with regard to regular editing compared to FCP 10 or Premiere. So, the pace may get it there eventually, but not yet. I may begin to use it more for finishing on certain projects though. Maybe.

[Mark Suszko] “Can I do this FCPX upgrade -without- upgrading to Catalina?”

    10.4.7 works with Mojave too.

[Bill Davis] “if you are still using odd really old apps”

Like Adobe applications as one example?

Have you cut them loose Bill? 🙂

And if you are on Mojave there is an FCPX 10.4.7 glitch and fix to keep in mind:

I hope that the next version of FCP 10 does not mandate Catalina. We need a year or so to get all the non-64 bit apps (or their supporting apps like updaters, etc.) on board before it will be possible to update OS. Seems like this transition will be a real pain for a lot of us.

[Michael Gissing] “I thought this thread might be speculating if Apple EOLs X at the 10 (X) year mark.”

Or they might have another 10 year plan for improving it at the 10 year mark considering how many people use it… We can call it FCP 11.

I’ve been calling it FCP 10 for awhile now; everybody knows what I am talking about.

Izotope RX7 plugins are real-time in FCP 10, not sure about Premiere. They take time to process in Audition. I assume the ERA would take some time to process in Audition?

I’d be curious how they compare in effectiveness to the RX7 Voice de-noiser, de-clipper, and de-reverb plugins among other examples.
