I do have an AJA Kona card, so I will try going out SDI next. If I come straight out of the AJA into the AJ-HD1400 deck via SDI, will I need a HD reference signal to both the computer and the deck? I’m not sure if I have an HD reference generator (Tri-Level Sync, yes?).

My sequence is showing up as Non-Drop Frame in the timeline’s TC window, but in the Browser shows up as being 29.97fps, it’s a bit confusing.

[Shane Ross] “Why not drop the clips into the timeline and have FCP sort that all out for you. It will adjust the sequence to match the footage. And since most tape formats are 29.97, and nearly all networks require 29.97 masters, then you should be golden.”
I do let FCP adjust the sequence to the footage, but I’m unsure how to output to tape. My footage and the sequences are DVCPRO HD 1080p30, this will output to tape at 29.97 automatically?
