    HA HA HA :0)

The sad truth is that I had problems posting so i typed in to letters and posted, just to realize that it worked AND i can edit but not delete a post afterwards ;0)

But thanks for the backup. I realized afterwards that the those two letters where maybe not the most political correct to send off, but at least no one mentioned the war :0).

    Hey

So I did find the problem with the last issue, I was not in a FCP standard setting since I worked in Pal resolution, but prores422 codec.

I schwitched to DV-Pal but my machine is still strugling though.

  • Hey

I am a new user and ceartainly new to FCP. Offcourse its always great to get the right categorization of questions. Structure helps everyone in a forum like this.

BUT I hope this is not a move meant to filter new/unexperienced users away from this forum.

I use a wealth of forums on the web, in some I am the newbie, in others I can help less experienced. One thing I see often happening is that when user reach a ceartain level of experience they start to nag about the newbies. Often there is a tendency to forget that we all started out fresh and green at one point, and back then we where gratefull for all the help we could get.

    Hey Tom

Just tried to follow your suggestion, but I have the problem that the items in the RT menu has changed. In this sequence the options of the RT menu is only “play base layer only”. In another sequence I have I can see the full set of options.

Do you have an idea to what is going on there. Must be missing a setting somewhere.

    Hey

HD 422 is my own short for prores422 1920×1080. Its a AVCHD track converted by FCP using log and transfer in the standard fashion.

I will try schwitching unlimited RT of, but how do i avoid rendering and still see how my “effect” ends up ? I cant work in the blind.

    Hi

I have 2 tracks. The timeline is in standard pal resolution in prores 422 codec. On top of that video track i have another track that is fullHD in prores422.

The HD track fills the whole picture so that a the standard pal timeline works as a frame displaying part of the HD track. The idea is then to minimize a section of the HD track and move it to the corner of the pal track making a picture in picture in that way. Both videotracks are full length. They show the same scene so the idea was to show 2 camere angles at the same time with a picture in picture effect.

    Best wishes.

October 13, 2009 at 9:44 pm in reply to: Multicam edit problems, cant figure it out.

    Hey

I did find the preference file, but trashing it didnt help. What happens is that after creating the multiclip sequence, when i have my 4-up window in the viewer, istead of stayin in “4-up” mode when i start playing the sequence it jumps to the active videotrack, basically the same as in the canvas window making it impossible to edit.

It needs to stay in 4-up configuration so I can clik the windows to insert edit point but this doesnt happen. I am soon pulling hair out :0).
