    Thanks for your reply.
I never knew that was normal (maybe for this version). Never saw this with HD. This footage is 1920 x 1080 @ 60fps MP4. There were no effects, just the raw footage. out of the camera. I thought that the red line represents the computer having a hard time deciphering the footage, so either these new updates are putting more strain on the cpu, or there’s something vying for resources.
Just transferred the footage to an ssd drive and it still gives me the red line. I then took rendered footage 720P and still had the “red Line”!
    Clearly something is very wrong!
    Thanks again!

Thank you all for your suggestions. If none works out for me , I’m ready to just use premiere and Photoshop to accomplish what I want to do. Thanks again!

Thanks for the quick response. Yes it does have the frame and dots around the entire canvas. i did double c;ick and it opened the layer in a separate tab. I tried rotoscoping the subject and the rest of the image was black (except the subject), I again tried to move the subject and the dots moved and the shape of the subject moved, but not the subject itself. You can tell i’m new at this but it’s very frustrating. Thanks again!

    I believe that’s what I did.
The reason for that was because when I used a plug in such as video FX, the window which pops up that allows you to tweak it, wasn’t showing up. At that point I googled this probelem and found others with the same issue.
One post suggested to initialize, which I did, and I lost the function of F8 as mike so rightly suggested.
BTW. initializing did not solve my original problem but unlocking tha taskbar and placing it on the side, revealed the “lost” windown needed to tweak the FX.
    Thanks again!
