Thanks for the tips guys, I guess we all learn the hard way at one point or another.
For at least making the audio sound a little better than it is, you guys mentioned EQ. I’ve not had to adjust audio EQ or frequencies much in the past, but what would you say is the best way to adjust the EQ at this point? Should I raise or lower the high frequencies? Low ones? Mids? Vince you mentioned adjusting around 2-3K…could you explain this a bit more?
As for avoiding this problem in the first place, I’m wondering what the best way is to avoid the hassle of the blankets/velour…Lavs were a great tip. What about shotgun mics? The mic I used was a Zoom H1, not very directional. I have some friends who do professional video all the time and they never use any absorption material, only a directional shotgun mic on a boom mounted above the speaker. Would a highly directional mic reduce the need for absorption material?
Thanks for the info guys, it is super appreciated!

Thanks Jon. I gave this a try and the images and transitions stretched just fine, but motion keyframes did not. Therefore, my scale/position keyframes did not stretch, resulting in a sudden stop in animation before the image faded into the next. Not sure if there is any option to ripple edit animation keyframes along with the images themselves…

I have a mid-2009 Macbook Pro running CS5.5 Production Premium using Snow Leopard. 8GB of RAM, it does have the NVidia card with GPU acceleration. Let me know if you need different specs, I’m a video guy still trying to learn the computer tech side of things. Thanks!

Thanks guys! I appreciate you helping me find what I couldn’t. I’m especially impressed by the Bracket1 brackets, which looks like they let you mount a hot shoe onto them wherever is convenient.

Hi Darryl, sorry about that, I’ve since gotten better at posting my solutions once I find them. To be honest, I can’t remember what I did, and that’s the only time I’ve ever had that problem. Most likely I found a solution on another thread or website, but my search history only let’s me go back a year so I can’t try and find it…I’m pretty sure it was something simple though. Have you tried restarting the software, your computer, and replacing the audio in the timeline with the same clip? If you press option and select the audio clip in your project panel, you can drag it on top of the audio clip in your timeline and it will be replaced, safe with any changes you made to the original clip in the timeline.
I’m sorry again I can’t give you a definitive answer. Hope you can find a solution.

December 14, 2011 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Color banding occurs on clip with noise removal and color correction? Thanks! Adding a little grain in After Effects helped a lot. I added the Noise effect, and set the amount of noise to 3.0%. However, I also decided to just do my color correcting in After Effects instead of doing it back in Premiere, which also helped a lot. I am also going to do more research on reducing artifacts and noise in my footage during shooting, so as to reduce the problem in post.

December 14, 2011 at 9:13 am in reply to: Color banding occurs on clip with noise removal and color correction?Thank you for the tip, Angelo. I had not done this. However, this has not made a difference in the preview in Premiere Pro. I also checkmarked the maximum bit depth option in the sequence settings in Premiere Pro, with no change. Even exporting with maximum bit depth checkmarked, the banding remained. The problem would have to be the color correction or color bit depth settings in Premiere, wouldn’t it? Because the preview in Premiere has almost no banding at all until color corrections are applied, and this is after removing noise in After Effects…

December 6, 2011 at 7:55 pm in reply to: Relinking a clip dynamically linked from Premiere Pro?Returning the files to their original folder location worked. Fortunately I was able to remember where they were. New rule: no moving files around after dynamically linking subclips from Premiere Pro.
