    Bouke,

Thank you! This helped as well as downloading the drastic plugin.

    Thanks!

    Shane,

That’s what the client told me – the two guys running the small post house both loaded in media, some copying from drives, some importing without telling the other one or consideration for storage issues. I’m coming in having never worked there before.

    Thanks,

    Glenn,

I guess it has. Looks like folders were taken out of Cam A, Card 1. Cam B the same thing. Can’t upload a screens hot for some reason. Anyway to rectify this?

July 25, 2017 at 3:02 pm in reply to: Avid Offline to Resolve Online

Thank you very much! This all worked perfectly. I have one last question:

In terms of copying media from camera cards, do I include the whole card, and every folder/subfolder to keep the structure intact? Or can I go in and grab just the .mxf file from a Sony FS7 or an .SIF file from a Canon XF100 and populate the media pool with that? This project has 5 different cameras all with different codecs. If I copy the whole card, then the media pool is filled with clips I don’t need, and I worry that with the same name for many clips (0001 for example), the wrong clip will be re-linked.

Again, to everyone, thank you for your responses. This is my first time doing this workflow and I appreciate your patience!

Thank you both for responding to this. This is my first time going to resolve and I appreciate all the help!

    Two questions:

    1) What version of Resolve should I use for this – does it matter? I’m on a 2015 Imac Retina, running Avid 8.4.4

    2) When you say create a media bin and populate it with source clips, is that just dragging in the original media from the folder at the desktop level? Or just File>Import

My apologies for the simple questions, I’ve never used Resolve before.

    Thank you again!

    Michael,

This is helpful. Turning the track into a secondary story line helped. I’m still approaching it as tracks, so I think that’s half my problem.

    Thank you,

    James,

Thank you. Yes, it’s taking me a bit to wrap my head around the timeline.

    Thank you again!
